What is National Financial Crime Fighter Day? October 26th is a day set aside to celebrate the people who protect the United States financial industry from illegal and terrorist activity. These people include law enforcement officers and other government personnel who work in the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) divisions.
These Officers stop drug cartel money from returning to their country of origin, prevent human traffickers from financing their operations and uncover movements that preclude terrorists from funding their activities. Such a job comes with large amounts of stress, low tolerance for errors and little recognition. October 26th is a day to recognize and show appreciation for the BSA and ALM professionals. This day was founded by Abrigo (a leading enterprise risk management solution) in 2018. Abrigo knows how hard these professionals work daily and worked hard to get them the national acknowledgement and appreciation they deserve since they are viewed as the true superheroes of the financial industry.
