In the Community
March 27, 2024
April is National Community Banking month. Community banks are a vital part of your community and improve your quality of life. Banking here in southeastern Minnesota can go a long way in helping our local community. How you may ask? When you deposit funds in your community bank, you can trust that your money is being redistributed back in to your community in the form of loans to fellow residents and small business owners. The same cannot be said for large National Banks.
Here are some additional benefits of community banking:
- Community banks give back to their communities through service projects and donations. Minnesota First employees have donated time and money to various charities in the community. One of our ongoing projects is donating $2.00 each Friday to wear jeans to work. This money is matched by Minnesota First and after a few months of collection donated to a local charity.
- Community banks know their customers and understand their financial needs. Minnesota First prides itself on knowing our customers personally and doing whatever we can to help them with all their financial needs.
- Community banks serve their customers and the community. Minnesota First looks out for our customers and advises them accordingly. We want to establish a long term relationship based on trust.
